The Minister of Youth and Sports of the South West State of Somalia, Mowlid Xasan Xuseen, held an important meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, with officials of GIZ, at which they discussed strengthening cooperation and support for the development of youth and sport in South West State.

The Minister thanked GIZ and the German Government for the humanitarian support and development efforts they are carrying out in South West State, and encouraged that this support be doubled and expanded so that the communities and young people of South West State can benefit from it.

The meeting also discussed sports development, youth job creation, skills development, vocational training and economic opportunities. GIZ presented its programs in the South West regions, including facilitating vocational training and job fairs.

The Minister also shared with GIZ the Ministry's 100-Day Plan and its strategic priorities, stressing the importance of investing in youth and sport to build opportunities, peace, social cohesion and development in South West State.

Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and implementing practical programs that support young people and the development of sport in South West Somalia.
